Applications rules
Applications for all Competition sections will be submitted by email to manfredi.svevia.competition@gmail.com:
- ID;
- short biography (maximum 300 words) to specify place and date of birth, studies, masterclasses, concerts, awards
- proof of payment of the participation fee
- two recent high quality photos
- competition repertoire. About Preselection round, Candidates will upload a video file on a platform such as Google Drive, WeTransfer, OneDrive or any other that allows the download of the file.
- The application forms, including all requested documents and videos, must be sent and have been formally approved by 12 noon (GMT) on 5 January 2023 at the latest.

Examination of applications
Applications
- The applications will be examined by the Competition's organizers. If necessary the Competition will ask the candidates to provide additional information. The videos of those candidates whose applications are not in order within the deadlines determined by the Competition will not be viewed during the preselection round and those candidates, accordingly, cannot be admitted to the Competition.

Rounds and Programmes
Preselection round
- Preselection round behind closed doors, is based on the viewing of the videos submitted by the candidates.
The public rounds are divided into three stages:

Semi-final round

Final round is to rank the top 3 laureates.
All the rounds, except the preselection process, are open to the public.

Preselection: viewing of the videos
- Candidates will be informed individually of the results of the selection process by 15 March 2023 at the latest.
- The number of candidates is not predetermined.
Programme
- Candidates must sent video-link via email to manfredi.svevia.competition@gmail.com a good-quality video recordings (audio and video) of recent performances by themselves of 15 minuts. The pieces have to be choose from first round programme. Candidates should upload one file per piece or per movement (in the case of works that contain several movements). The works performed in the preselection video may be included in the programme for the public rounds of the Competition.

Technical requirements
- In the application form, the candidate must provide information on the place and date of recording for each file. Each piece or movement (in the case of works that contain several movements) must be recorded in a single take. There must be only one camera and its angle must be fixed. No editing is allowed. The candidate must be clearly visible; the candidate’s hands and face should be clearly visible at all times. It is strongly recommended that the sound should be recorded professionally.

- Video of a recent performances by themselves of 15 min. approximately. The pieces have to be choose from first round programme.
First round
- Duration of the performance: approximately 30 minutes
1. J.S. Bach. One of the following pieces by choice of the performer:
- Adagio and fugue from Sonata No. 3 in C major, BWV 1005;
- Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in d minor, BWV 1004.
- Adagio and fugue from Partita No. 1 in B minor BWV 1002
2. N. Paganini. Two caprices by choice of the performer.
3. One or several pieces of the competitor’s choice.
Semi-final
Duration of the performance: approximately 40-50 minutes
1. One of the sonatas of the following composers: W. A. Mozart (one of the sonatas except for childhood sonatas), L. van Beethoven, F. Schubert, R. Schumann, J. Brahms, E. Grieg, C. Franck, C. Debussy, M. Ravel, R. Strauss, B. Bartók, S. Prokofiev, D. Shostakovich, B. Martinů.
2. A virtuoso piece.
3. A composition on the performer's choice

2. A. Piatti. One of the caprices from the cycle of caprices, op. 25 (except No. 1).
3. One or several compositions on the performer's choice
Semi-final
- Duration of the performance: approximately 40-50 minutes
1. A sonata by one of the following composers: L. van Beethoven, F. Schubert, J. Brahms, B. Martinů .
2. A virtuoso piece.
3. One or several pieces of the competitor’s choice (playing one/two movements of a sonata is admissible).

1. One Prélude and Fugue from the Well Tempered Clavier by J. S. Bach, (book I or book II)
2. One complete classical sonata (J. Haydn, W. Mozart, L. van Beethoven, M. Clementi)
3. Three virtuoso Etudes, one each by F. Chopin, F. Liszt and S. Rachmaninoff.
Semi-final
- A solo program no less than 50 and no longer than 60 minutes in duration.
The repertoire will consist of works by choice of the performer.

Other Conditions.
The candidates
By applying to take part in the Competition, candidates indicate their acceptance of these rules. This agreement is a condition sine qua non to be admitted for participation in the Competition.
By applying for the Competition, candidates agree to participate in all the rounds as well as in all ceremonies and concerts for which they will be selected by the jury or the organizers of the Competition. They will receive a detailed calendar when their application is accepted.

Pianists to accompany the candidates
Pianists designated by the organizers of the competition are at the disposal of the candidates. Candidates may, nonetheless, have a personal accompanist.

The Jury
The Executive Committee of the Competition has the exclusive authority to appoint the members of the jury. The number of members is not limited. They are chosen for their international renown in the world of music, without regard to any racial, ideological, political, religious, or linguistic considerations. The composition of the jury may vary from one round to another.
The jury is chaired by a member of the Executive Committee or by such other person as the Executive Commit- tee may designate.
Members of the jury may not vote for a candidate who is, or has been, one of their pupils.
A list of the names of the members of the jury will be given to each candidate before the first public round.
